Chingay has evolved but Chinese culture still runs strong in the parade

Although the Chingay Parade began as replacement after the ban on Chinese New Year firecrackers, in recognition of our multiracial, cosmopolitan and inclusive society, it has naturally evolved into a multicultural event, with a distinctly Asian flavour, and is presented in a refreshing and uniquely Singapore way.
